IFC
As an object-oriented file programming, the IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) ensures interoperability between different modeling software. It is a free and open source format that is intended to be the guarantee of an “OpenBIM”.
BCF
A file format, the BCF (BIM Collaboration Format) is used to communicate coordination information. It contains question descriptions, screenshots, comments, authors, creation dates, linked objects, 3D section.
2D
2D is the representation of an object in two-dimensional shape. The object is only represented in 2 dimensions: length and width. In BIM’s word, 2D drawings still have a few years left; many stakeholders still need this display.
